What is the aim of Music Lessons?  - Halesowen 27th Ocotober 2014

Music Lesssons are the most important aspect of learning to play an instrument. The challenge is knowing if exams are for you.

Many factors are involved :

Do you need to be working at a certain level for GSCE ? Normally grade 3-5

Maybe a career in music ?

Remember just because your friend has grade 8 Rockschool in guitar, piano or drums  does not mean his an outstanding player. People will rush through grades without learning the backbone to music ; music theory, ear tests, sight reading and learning different styles.

We have tons of students who come from colleges around the area ; Halesowen College , Dudley College and some from Bromsgrove College. All of these feel they are all rounded in terms of playing styles and have the foundations covered.

What does it really mean though to become  a true musician or player.

The most important point is YOU know exactly what you want from us.

Decent budget guitars ? - 3rd Ocotober 2014

When picking a guitar it is really important that its the correct instrument for the pupil. Alot of new pupil go for the color and this does not always produce a good sounding guitar

Many factors are involved :

Pickups

Make

Wood

Action.

The most important point is the Action. The action is the distance between the fretboard and strings. If the action is high the pupil will find guitar lessons tough because it's harder pushing down. This will make learning very challenging. I always advise pupils/parents that a classical guitar good to learn on then move on to maybe a Les Paul Special 2- £135. Remember it delays time and costs money picking up the wrong instrument and will make music tuition even harder.

Guitar Tuition in Dudley - 4th August 2014

The successful tuition of any instrument is dependent on establishing a good and respectful relationship between student and teacher. This means that a teacher who works well with one student might not work well with another. Building a rapport is essential if a student is to progress with any instrument.

It’s for this reason that Pro Music Tuition offers the first music lesson free, as a trial lesson to ensure that the student feels at ease with the teacher as well as with the chosen instrument before any money changes hands.

There’s nothing that can replace the value of learning the guitar with an excellent and inspiring teacher. Regardless as to whether you’re an accomplished guitarist looking to advance your capabilities and improve your skills or a novice new to all string instruments, you will need a guitar teacher who offers support and inspiration and who’s committed to helping you achieve your guitar-playing goals.

At Pro Music Tuition you can enjoy quality guitar tuition in Dudley with excellent teachers in a relaxed and stimulating environment. Guitar tuition is adapted to fit the needs of each student and you can learn the instrument at your own pace and to your own schedule.

Who Can Teach You How to Sing? - 21st July 2014

Everyone can sing, to a certain extent. Singing is one of the most satisfying ways of expressing yourself. Perhaps your singing may never be heard outside the shower or it may be heard everywhere but the shower, but confidence in singing is one of the main things to overcome when you’re starting out and learning how to develop and project your voice.

With singing, in order to gain pace, the desire and willingness must be there from the outset. The mechanics of singing well – that is, good posture, breathing control, tone and expression – can generally be taught. A musical ear is also required if you are to sing in the right pitch. This can be taught or developed, but the process can be a lengthy one. The other vital component is a desire for self-expression and communicating a story through music. Singing in public doesn’t require a person to just sing; the singer needs to connect with their audience. They need to capture their imagination and evoke emotion.

If you’ve decided you’d like to take up singing then you need to be prepared to practice. Practice, and the help of an inspiring singing teacher, are vital for progression. But who can teach you how to sing?

Pro Music Tuition has a strong track record in delivering vocal tuition, with many leaving to become professional singers and teachers. To start singing, get in contact.

Guitar lessons in Cradley Heath, Kingswinford, Oldhill, Halesowen - Single or groups ?? - 30th July 2014

Overall the pattern is that small group tuition is effective, and as a rule of thumb, the smaller the group the better, e.g. groups of two have slightly higher impact than groups of three, but slightly lower impact compared to 1-2-1 .Some studies suggest that greater feedback from the teacher, more sustained engagement in smaller groups, or work which is more closely matched to learners’ needs explain this impact. Once group size increases above six or seven there is a noticeable reduction in effectiveness.

However, although the above pattern is usually consistent, there is some variability in impact within the existing evidence. For example, in reading, small group teaching can sometimes be more effective than either one to one or paired tuition. It may be that in these cases reading practice can be efficiently organised so that all the group stay fully engaged as each take their turn, such as in Guided Reading. Likewise, in the evaluation of Every Child Counts in the UK, one to one, paired teaching and groups of three were almost equally effective. The variability in findings suggests two things. First, the quality of the teaching in small groups may be as or more important than the group size, and there is evidence of the benefits of professional development on pupils outcomes. Second, it is important to evaluate the effectiveness of different arrangements as the specific subject matter being taught and composition of the groups may influence the outcomes.

For adults group sessions are more effective and results and research have proved this.

We have nearly 400 pupils at Pro Music Tuition Limited who come from Kingswindford, Cradley, Oldhill, Halesowen and other areas surrounding B65.

Piano Lessons in Dudley - 7th July 2014

The piano is a versatile instrument. It works as both a solo instrument and group instrument and features prominently in jazz, folk, country, blues, rock and classical music.

The piano is an iconic instrument. A finely-tuned grand piano, in particular, makes a beautiful sound when played well. However, the piano isn’t all that easy to learn, and learning requires dedication. Many would like to learn the piano but are put off by the prospect of endless houses of theory and playing practice, but if you’re serious about learning, banish these negative thoughts. You must approach learning the piano with an open mind and a positive attitude. Remember that the piano is arguably one of the most rewarding instruments to be able to play well.

Pro Music Tuition offers piano lessons in Dudley, Halesowen, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Smethwick and further afield. Our piano lessons cater to individuals of all ages, with lessons tailored to suit the needs of each individual. If you’re keen to learn the piano, get in touch. We offer the first piano lesson free, so you won’t lose anything from giving this great keyboard instrument a go – if you haven’t already.

Music Lessons in Halesowen - 23rd June 2014

Scientific studies show that learning a musical instrument as a child gives the brain a boost which lasts well into adult life. In turn, adults who learned an instrument as a child, gave that instrument up and now returning to it after many years, still retain heightened brain responses to sound and speech. This doesn’t actually matter unless you’d like to play an instrument proficiently. The joy of learning an instrument and appreciating a variety of musical genres is the most important aspect of taking music lessons.

Do you want to learn the piano or does a woodwind instrument appeal more to you? Perhaps you feel like hammering away on the drums?

Whatever instrument you’d like to learn, it makes all the difference to have an inspiring teacher who’s passionate about the instrument you are learning. A teacher’s passion for an instrument can be very infectious. You might think a teacher’s passion for their instrument goes without saying, but this isn’t always the case. Disillusionment can set in.

At Pro Music Tuition we teach GCSE music, music theory, percussion instruments, string instruments and keyboard instruments. All our teachers have a real passion for the instruments they teach. Whatever your level of proficiency, we’re keen to help you master the instrument you want to learn. To find out more about music lessons in Halesowen, visit Pro Music Tuition. We offer music tuition in Kingswinford, Dudley, Stourbridge, Smethwick and all the surrounding areas.
