FLUTE Lessons SUTTON COLDFIELD
The flute is a popular woodwind instrument with children and adults alike. A versatile instrument, the flute is included in orchestras, jazz bands and many other types of music groups. As a relatively small and easy to maintain instrument the flute is perfect for the student looking to learn to play songs quickly. As with other woodwind instruments the flute also shares fingering and skills with other instruments in the woodwind family, and so learning the flute can lead to other opportunities.

ADULT AND KIDS FLUTE LESSONS
We teach the flute to children from the age of eight and up, with plenty of adults enjoying learning the instrument, too. The flute is an ideal instrument for beginners as students quickly progress from playing a few notes to performing songs. Our expert tutors make sure lesson plans are tailored to the individual student’s abilities and teach music theory and scales alongside playing pupil’s favourite songs.
Whatever age and whether learning through group or individual flute tuition we offer to train pupils for exams. Working towards a goal like this can help teach children to focus and the sense of achievement when passing grades is always a thrill. We work with several different syllabuses, including ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool. If you have previously learned pieces for an exam elsewhere we can provide the exam for you (excluding ABRSM).

What are the benefits of music lessons for kids?
Builds language skills.
Many studies have shown that children who learn to play an instrument, become accustomed to various sounds that they would not have acknowledged before. This practice teaches their ears the subtle sounds of language.
It makes them academically stronger.
Links have been found between music lessons and nearly every measure of academic achievement: SAT scores, reading comprehension, and math skills. Music also improves their powers of recall for powerful learning in all subjects.
IQ increase.
Numerous studies have proven that children’s IQs improve because of even a few weeks of music lessons. Brain scan technology indicates that brain activity improves following musical training, and some parts of the brain show greater plasticity.
It teaches discipline.
Music lessons require hours of concentration and patience. Children must persist even when things aren’t going well…an invaluable skill for all areas of life.
It supports muscle development and motor skills.
Children must use their entire bodies to maintain the rhythm when they play. They also must coordinate various movements with their hands at the same time. In doing so, they develop strength and coordination.
It improves social skills.
If children play in a group, they have to learn to work together to achieve a shared goal, exercising tolerance, patience, and encouragement towards their peers.
It makes kids feel good about themselves.
There’s nothing quite like the sense of pride that comes from working on a new skill, especially when the result is beautiful music.

MUSIC LESSON REVIEWS
"My son has been attending Pro Music's Kids Music Lessons for 2 years, and I can honestly say I would not go anywhere else. The tutors are fantastic, especially Tom. If you are trying to get your kids off the consoles and into another positive interest, this is the place to go; they do a huge range of instruments, so you will find something they are into. I also know older teens and adults who go to Pro Music for various things, including singing lessons, and the feedback is excellent. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

"Wow, this music school is fantastic. My son has been having drum lessons with Andy, and I have to say he is amazing, so friendly, professional, and very patient. He's more like family because he has made my son feel relaxed and brought him out of his shell. All through lockdown, he has continued to give him advice and carry on with his music lessons online, and he has just taken his grade 3.
Karen Winmill
"My children have lessons with Tom and Robin for piano lessons and Andy for bass guitar lessons, and they all REALLY enjoy their lessons. The teachers have a love for their music, they tailor their lessons for the children, they treat them as intelligent human beings, and they are also very helpful and informative to parents. I cannot praise them enough :-)"
Rachel Cunningham-Day
"Laura, who is the piano teacher at Pro Music, Cradley Heath, is amazing. My daughter had started taking piano lessons last September, and what a success that has been. My Daughter, who is 4 years old, has learned so much. Laura not only teaches the child to play the piano, but the way she teaches it is amazing. Her lessons are engaging and playful enough for a child that they remember and learn, and are built from there. Would highly recommend her."
Sabeen Khalid
"My daughter has been having kids' music lessons here now for over a year. It's a great music school. Leeming is her teacher, and she is just fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The lessons are always fun, and she always keeps herself engaged. She's always willing to accommodate wherever she can. My daughter started as a beginner, and she has gone from strength to strength. She looks forward to her music lesson every week. I would highly recommend it to anyone!"
Louise Mills
"My daughter has been having keyboard lessons for a year now. In this time, I have seen her grow greatly in confidence and ability. Leeming has been wonderful in supporting her and teaching her. Would 100% recommend Pro Music and Leeming to anybody who wants to learn to play the keyboard!
Faye Darby
"Li Ming. The piano teacher is a wonderful, kind kids' music teacher. My son loves going to class and gets fully engaged, he loves practising new pieces and (if he could) would be learning all day."
Darren Cowley
"My son and daughter have both had kids' music lessons at ProMusic for about 3 years now, and both have come on leaps and bounds! My daughter recently did her grade 2 piano with Leeming Hoey and got a Merit! She loves her piano lessons with Lee; she's so friendly and encouraging and has built up a great relationship with my daughter. My daughter enjoys coming to her lessons.
My son has guitar lessons with Dave Phillips, and he's about to do his grade 2 exam too. His confidence has grown massively, as well as his willingness to practice at home, something we've always struggled with. He's even recently joined a guitar ensemble at school. Both teachers are great, and I'm a very proud mum that both are doing so well"
