Online Singing Lesson FAQs

What singing technique and styles do you teach online?

Technique is built into every stage of your online singing lessons, from vocal warm-ups through to learning a new piece. Your coach will focus on correct breathing, posture, facial position and clear pronunciation, and will explain why using your body correctly makes such a difference to your voice. Once the fundamentals and your vocal range are established, you can apply them across styles, whether that is classical, contemporary, rock, pop or musical theatre.

What will my first online singing lesson be like?

Your first online singing lesson starts with an assessment of your vocal range and current technique. From there, your coach draws up a tailored plan to develop your voice, including the breathing foundations every singer needs.

Do I need to be able to read music?

Not at first. Many pupils begin their online vocal lessons singing by ear and introduce sheet music reading later once they can feel how each note sits in their voice. If reading music is a goal for you, just let your coach know and we will build it into your plan.

How much do I need to Practice?

Around four short sessions a week, roughly 20 minutes each, is the sweet spot for embedding what you cover in your online singing lesson. That is far less than the lesson itself, and consistency matters more than duration.

Can you teach anyone to sing or do you need natural talent?

You do not need natural talent to learn to sing well. Every technique can be taught, and with regular practice, most voices improve significantly. Our vocal coaches have worked with complete beginners with no prior singing ability, developing tone and vocal control until they were singing confidently and in tune.
