Saxophone Lessons West Midlands
The saxophone is one of the most timeless, relaxing and fun to play of the woodwind family of instruments. As a comparatively modern instrument the fingering system is easier than some other similar instruments and is a good choice for a beginner. At Pro Music Tuition we teach saxophone from the very first few notes up to performing complicated songs, whether individually or as part of a group.
ONLINE SAXOPHONE LESSONS
We also offer saxophone lessons online using Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp or Facebook. With more flexible timeslots available and without the need to travel online teaching can be more convenient or even necessary if reaching the practice studios isn’t an option. You can expect to receive the same first class quality of teaching at home as in the practice studios.
Not only does learning online eliminate travel time and the need to pack and move your instruments it also allows for a wider range of scheduling options so we can find a time that works for you. If you are looking to book saxophone lessons for you or your child why not get in touch with us today or use our handy online booking system to book your first free lesson!

ADULT AND KIDS SAXOPHONE LESSONS
We teach saxophone for children ages 8 and above, and adults of all ages. For beginners we start with learning simple songs whilst also teaching scales and the basics of music theory using the Pro Music Tuition iPads. By building a solid base of musical knowledge pupils can progress to taking exams if they wish and learn concepts that will be useful for the saxophone and beyond.
Whatever age and whether learning through group or individual tuition we offer to train pupils for exams. Working towards a goal like this can help teach children to focus and the sense of achievement when passing grades is always a thrill. We work with several different syllabuses, including ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool.. If you have previously learned pieces for an exam elsewhere we can provide the exam for you (excluding ABRSM).
GROUP Saxophone LESSONS
We offer individual and group saxophone lessons. Individual saxophone lessons last for 30 or 60 minutes and each session is tailored to suit the ability level of each student. Group saxophone lessons last for 60 minutes and allow students to learn songs with others, often fast-tracking learning and helping build confidence in young pupils.

"My son has been attending Pro music for 2 years and I can honestly say I would not go anywhere else. The tutors are fantastic, especially Tom. If you are trying to get your kids off the consoles into another positive interest, this is the place to go, they do a huge range of instruments so will definitely find something they are into. I also know older teens and adults who go to Pro music for various different things including singing lessons and the feedback is excellent. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

"Wow this music school is fantastic, my son has been having drum lessons with Andy, and I have to say he is amazing, so friendly, professional, and very patient, he's more like family because he has made my son feel relaxed and brought him out his shell. All through lockdown, he has continued to give him advice and carry on with his lesson online, he has just taken his grade 3.
Karen Winmill
"My children have lessons with Tom and Robin for piano and Andy for bass and they all REALLY enjoy their lessons. The teachers have a love for their music, they tailor their lessons for the children, they treat them as intelligent human beings, they also are very helpful and informative to parents. I cannot praise them enough :-)"
Rachel Cunningham-Day
"Laura who is the piano teacher at Pro Music Cradley is amazing. My daughter had started taking piano lessons from her since last September and what a success that has been. My D who is 4 year old has learned so much. Laura not only teaches the child to play the piano but the way she teaches it is amazing. Her lessons are engaging and playful enough for a child that they remember and learn and built from there. Would highly recommend her."

No, we can provide everything for the lessons and resources for learning.
Is first music lesson is free?
Yes, we extend this so pupils can also try a taster in each instrument.
Do pupils learn to read music?
Yes, music theory is included in all lessons. We teach our pupils, note values, how to read music, and scales and how to approach sight-reading. This is important in knowing how to practice effectively. Tutors will also demonstrate what websites to use to brush up and improve on your music theory reading. With electric guitar, it would be TAB; with classical guitar it would be treble clef reading. We have over 900 pupils per week attend our premises. We start adults from novices or can take over from other existing teachers/music schools. We can start gradings or leisure play; Pro Music is very flexible with the times. We have many slots to suit adults who work shiftwork/home or even 9-to-5.
What are the benefits of music lessons for kids?
Builds language skills.
Many studies have shown that children who learn to play an instrument, become accustomed to various sounds that they would not have acknowledged before. This practice teaches their ears the subtle sounds of language.
It makes them academically stronger.
Links have been found between music lessons and nearly every measure of academic achievement: SAT scores, reading comprehension, and math skills. Music also improves their powers of recall for powerful learning in all subjects.
IQ increase.
Numerous studies have proven that children’s IQs improve because of even a few weeks of music lessons. Brain scan technology indicates that brain activity improves following musical training, and some parts of the brain show greater plasticity.
It teaches discipline.
Music lessons require hours of concentration and patience. Children must persist even when things aren’t going well…an invaluable skill for all areas of life.
It supports muscle development and motor skills.
Children must use their entire bodies to maintain the rhythm when they play. They also must coordinate various movements with their hands at the same time. In doing so, they develop strength and coordination.
It improves social skills.
If children play in a group, they have to learn to work together to achieve a shared goal, exercising tolerance, patience, and encouragement towards their peers.

Is practising for 1 hour a day enough?
Amateur Adult: 1-2 hours daily. Many adult amateurs are extremely busy individuals who struggle to find even 15 minutes a day to practise! But in order to advance at a satisfying pace and get the most out of their piano study, an adult amateur student will ideally be able to dedicate at least an hour a day to practising.
Children: Again, there will be a direct correlation between time spent practising and advancement. Children and younger adults have the advantage of being able to learn faster, but we recommend 15 minutes a day of practice, or 30 to 45 if sitting exams.
Am I too old to learn how to play an instrument?
Learning a new skill as an adult is a great way to keep the mind active and young, studies have shown that it can even prevent cognitive decline as we age. Neuroplasticity allows your brain to create new pathways and neurons at any age. So, while it's true that children and young adults will pick up new skills faster, adults of any age can enjoy the multiple benefits of learning an instrument.
